**Teaching Assistant - Braille Experience**

**Shoreham-by Sea**

**Monday - Friday**

**8.30-3.30**

**£80-£90 a day**

- Masterclass Education are working with an SEN college who are dedicated in providing an inclusive and supportive educational environment for all students. They are committed to helping a visually impaired student achieve their full potential through personalised support and specialised resources. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist visually impaired student in accessing the curriculum through Braille and other tactile resources.
- Transcribe and prepare classroom materials in Braille.
- Support students in the classroom, ensuring they understand and complete assignments.
- Aid in the development of individualised education plans (IEPs) for a visually impaired student.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to monitor and support student progress.
- Assist with the use of assistive technology and specialised equipment.
- Help students develop independence and self-advocacy skills.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with visually impaired students and proficiency in Braille.
- Certification in Braille or relevant qualification (preferred).
- A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of individual students.
- A commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the classroom.
- Background check and relevant clearances (required).
