**Your new Role**

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Regional Change Lead to join our team in the North West region. The Regional Change Lead will work alongside the Regional Director, senior leaders and the wider team to transform the way we work. You will Lead significant changes to the way we contract and deliver our responsibilities of operating and maintaining the major road network and manage organisational change. You’ll help to implement new systems, software and tools and ensure they are successfully embedded into business as usual as well as ensuring our people and those who work alongside us are highly effective and efficient in the work they deliver. The Regional Change Lead will oversee our journey to Operational Excellence by initiating innovative ways of working, building on good practice, and establishing robust and resilient business processes across the region.

You’ll be an active part of the regional management team contributing to management decisions on a regular basis and focussing on staff engagement activity.

**What you’ll lead on**
- Plan, deliver and implement new regional contract arrangements to the agreed timetable. Maintain all existing and interim contract arrangements to ensure seamless transition.
- Work alongside the regional leadership team to lead and manage the change in the way the organisation operates in region.
- Lead development and implementation of business cases, project plans and other key documents in support of delivering Operational Excellence. Secure all necessary approval decisions to align with stakeholder objectives and agreed timeframes.
- Lead financial and programme governance ensuring arrangements are established and maintained and all risks effectively mitigated or managed.
- Identify, mitigate and manage all risks to performance and delivery of the change programme ensuring delivery of the required outcomes.
- Lead all change project and programme reporting and management information ensuring visibility of progress and performance by the Regional Leadership Team, Operations Senior Management and Business Partners.
- Work collaboratively with business partners to ensure that the project and programme plans to initiate contract changes are developed and maintained to enable optimised delivery in line with the agreed strategy.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the business to ensure a coordinated approach in line with the national contract delivery rollout programme.
- Work with the Regional Leadership Team to deliver a planned, consistent and assured regional programme. Ensure the programme aligns with other programmes and portfolios of work; and corporate, technical and specialist standards.
- Proactively champion engagement and collaboration with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders to drive understanding, maintain alignment with regional activities and resolve conflicting goals, priorities and timescales.
- Lead the transition of the region to the target operating structure, managing the change experience for both the existing colleagues and TUPE colleagues where applicable.

**To be successful**
- Demonstrate experience of delivering large scale change programmes.
- Demonstrate experience of leading people to successful delivery of large scale, complex and/or high risk and profile programmes.
- Demonstrate an understanding of IT systems, technology, software and tools, and have experience of leading change programmes incorporating these elements
- Demonstrate experience of leading a large and dispersed team across numerous disciplines
- Relevant project delivery skills
- Excellent influencing and communicating skills to effectively engage key internal and external stakeholders.
