**JOB TITLE: Handyperson**

**LOCATION: The Gyle Shopping Centre, Edinburgh EH12 9JY**

**CONTRACT: Permanent**

**HOURS: Full time**

**PAY RATE: Subject to experience**

**OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION**

Handyperson based on site planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and building fabric within a retail property environment.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Operations and Duty Team. Including, but not limited, repair and preventative maintenance of building fabric and other duties in support of the rest of the team
- To close / update completed PPM tasks on the site maintenance system
- To carry out water temp checks, ladder inspections and lift call point checks amongst other duties
- To carry out Joinery / Fabric and basic plumbing
- External works including stab repair / replacement.
- Gutter and high-level cleaning
- Report all reactive works and repair and schedule in duties around PPM’s to complete
- Ensure company & site, health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works
- Occasional flexibility of hours when required
- Assist with site emergencies
- Carry out tasks within typical plantroom environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders when required
- Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner
- To proactively work towards the continued success and support of the contract with a positive approach.
- Complete any other associated task requested by the management

**Essential Requirements**:

- General knowledge of building maintenance
- Resides geographically near to site
- Basic IT skills
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of health & safety in the workplace

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience of working within a maintenance team
- IPAF Licence
- L8
