McCabe & Barton are partnered with a leading Clearing & Trading House in recruiting for an Non-Functional Tester on an interim basis.The role will be an initially for a 6 months contract with the view to extend.

Rate is £700 per day inside IR35

Key Skills and Responsibilites:

- 5+ Years experience in non-functional testing
- Significant experience in financial services - ideally an exchange or trading enviroment
- Strong scripting experience on Jmeter (preferably with an understanding plugin development in Java) and HP Loadrunner
- Ability to build test harness/script using Jmeter or other open source tools for FIX protocol, TCP based Binary messages,and HTTP/Websockets
- Ability to analyse and interpret system utilisation metrics, CPU, memory, JAVA heap size etc.
- Strong knowledge of Performance, Capacity, Stress Testing Techniques/Methods/Tools
- Good knowledge of Operating Systems, preferably Windows and Linux (including scripting of both) and performance tuning of Linux
- Good knowledge of relational databases (preferably MS-SQL Server and MySQL) and web servers (preferably IIS)
- Good knowledge of performance monitoring of Operating Systems and relational databases like Oracle/MySQL/MS-SQL server and Web Servers (IIS)
- Experience in Financial services is preferable with understanding of SWIFT and FIX protocols and experience with multicast messages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Performance and failover testing experience in a professional role, preferably with low latency
- Good understanding of Server topology (web/app/DB server), Computer Networks (TCP/IP, load balancers, firewalls), and knowledge of service layers, Restful service, SOAP Web Services, Websockets
- A strong understanding of commodities derivative products
