**The Role**: Team Leader (Reconciliations and CASS)

**Responsibilities**:

- Execute timely reconciliations as per the FCA requirements across various Group bank accounts including client money calculations, paper bank reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and insurer money calculations.
- Carry-out commission transfers to/ from office accounts to cover deficit/ surplus balances where applicable.
- Review and approve various tasks and processes carried out by the CASS and Reconciliations team.
- Investigate issues found through the reconciliation process and follow through with appropriate solutions once root cause analysis is complete, including Client & Insurer Money Calculations with an Audit focused mindset.
- Identify and log CASS breaches, finding resolutions and future process changes to prevent future occurrences.
- Have a clear and definitive understanding on unidentified cash amounts, as well as full ownership and oversight on client unidentified cash amounts.
- Work closely with the other internal IBA teams to improve and scale up processes.
- Escalate and clearly present issues to line manager with proposed solutions.
- Build strategic relationships across the organisation and effectively communicate with various key stakeholders at different seniority levels.
- Report vital operational information to management for agreed timeframes.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of existing workflow and where appropriate, suggest and lead process enhancement projects.
- Hire and introduce new colleagues to the team and train and develop new and existing staff on business procedures and methods to improve performance.
- Ensure operational procedures and controls are documented and maintained as needed.
- Participate and act as first point of contact for CASS and statutory audits.
- Liaise with new businesses where needed and ensure full understanding of new systems, and any differences in processes, implementing effective and bespoke controls prior to the eventual integration of new businesses.
- Effectively plan resource availability during holidays and sickness cover.
- Maintain skills matrix for yourself and your team to ensure business risk is mitigated as needed.

**Required Experience and Skills**:

- Have worked with broking systems including Acturis, Websure, SSP, Epic and TAM.
- Familiar with mainstream bank providers and multi-currency operations.
- Effective communication including written and verbal.
- Intermediate level in MS Office suit especially with MS Excel.
- A self-starter who can challenge existing processes with the intention of enhancing key business areas.
- Uphold a high level of resilience to adapt to constant business growth.
- Deliver required tasks accurately and on time whilst working under pressure.
- Have a positive ‘can do attitude’ with natural problem-solving abilities that are accompanied with a high level of attention to detail.
- Be able to work as part of a team collaboratively as well as on your own initiative.
