Are you a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist?
Do you have a passion for improving the lives of children and young people suffering with mental health difficulties?
If so, Coastal CAMHS may have just the opportunity for you
Coastal Children Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) has recently received funding to develop and expand the fantastic services we offer to young people in our community. We work with a range of children and young people who present with a multitude of mental health problems.
We have received investment to support us to deliver specialist interventions and treatments to children and adolescents in Worthing and Chichester areas. We have a culture of support and compassion within our team and we believe that every one of our team members has a crucial part to play in the services that we provide. We will work with you to identify your career aspirations and develop a CPD plan to suit you.
This is a key role in a busy community CAMHS team. The post holder will be required to undertake initial assessments for children and young people referred into the service, ensuring safeguarding, risk management and care planning are implemented to the highest standard, and at all times that the service offers effective patient-centred care, facilitate groups and treatment and hold a case load of young people. The post-holder will be a key clinician supporting the above functions and liaising with external agencies including children’s services, education and healthcare providers, to ensure children and young people are offered the best possible evidence-based interventions.
The post holder will receive clinical and line management supervision and support as well opportunities for in-house training. Some post-registration training would be very welcome, however the Trust is keen to develop its Mental Health Practitioners and there are lots of opportunities for CPD and being part of the wider Sussex CAMHS team through Away Days and other specialist training opportunities.
Coastal CAMHS are looking to recruit a Band 6 Community CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner, who is highly motivated and with a passion for working creatively and collaboratively with children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems, and their families, within the Worthing and Chichester areas in West Sussex. We would consider applicants from a range of backgrounds including;
Nurses
Occupational Therapists
Social Workers
The post entails working in a lively, busy multidisciplinary CAMHS Team delivering high quality interventions to children, young people and their families, including assessments, individual and group work. You will get the opportunity to work with colleagues of all disciplines.
This post requires knowledge and experience of working with young people who are experiencing severe and complex mental health difficulties.
