**The Opportunity**:
Associate Transport Planner based in the Cities Planning and Design (CPD) West (Bristol or Cardiff) team with client experience in these cities. You will be supporting the Transport Consulting, CPD and other West teams in Bristol and Cardiff on a wide range of strategic transport planning work with particular emphasis on leading broader multidisciplinary projects which span across Transport Consulting, Cities, Development and Infrastructure in the West. The work will include advising public and private sector clients across the geography, linking into our framework teams, such as the Bristol City Council Strategic Partnership framework and key private sector clients such as Cardiff Parkway Ltd.

The Associate Transport Planner role will strengthen the teams resilience in work winning, delivery and client relationship forming. This role will be about embedding a strong and capable person within an established and growing team with someone who will develop others and client relationships over the longer term.

**What we are looking for**:

- Appreciation of decarbonisation within Transport
- Background in delivering transport systems within the planning regime i.e., town country planning act, Development Consent Orders (DSO) and other consenting routes.
- Self-starter with a developing interest in managing projects, people, and meeting clients whom you will support. This includes managing and developing a team.
- Excellent analytical skills
- The ability to effectively communicate complex issues associated with transport planning and city design projects to clients and leaders. Tailor communication to your audience.
- Proven ability to review technical and presentation content to a high standard. To create compelling client offers.
- Be able to work as part of a team, meeting deadlines and client needs.
- Via project be able to generate commercial return. Budget and set up workflow planning, manage change and contracts.

**What is good to have**:

- MSc in Transport or related discipline
- Professional qualification i.e. Chartered, CILT, CIHT, TPP is desirable.
- Good understanding of transport modelling, software such as SATURN, VISUM, GIS etc
- Some technical background with Power BI and Python Scripting would be advantageous
- Have exposure and knowledge of contracts (legal)
- Public and Private sector experience would be welcome
