Anderselite are working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy who are seeking an Associate Transport Planner to join their Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take the next step in their career, helping deliver high-quality development and transport planning projects across the UK.
The Opportunity
This senior-level role is ideal for a strong Senior or Principal Transport Planner looking to progress into a more strategic position with project leadership, client management, and team development responsibilities. You'll be part of a dynamic and growing team, delivering a broad range of projects for private and public sector clients - from development planning and infrastructure design to transport strategy and assessments.
You'll lead the preparation and management of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and traffic impact studies, while also supporting business development and mentoring junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver transport planning projects, ensuring quality, technical accuracy, and on-time delivery.
- Provide advice and input across all project stages, from concept through to planning approval.
- Analyse transport data and prepare high-quality technical reports and assessments.
- Liaise with local authorities, developers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement transport and access strategies to support planning applications.
- Lead elements of business development, including bid writing and client relationship management.
- Support and mentor junior team members, helping to develop their technical and professional skills.
About You
- Degree-qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' professional experience within transport planning, preferably in a consultancy environment.
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (e.g. CIHT, TPS, or ICE).
- Strong understanding of development planning processes and relevant UK transport policy.
- Experience using key software such as TRICS, Junctions 10, and LinSig (CAD knowledge desirable).
- Strong communication, report writing, and client-facing skills.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
