**Job overview**:
To support the Macmillan Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist team in the delivery of nursing care and service to patients who are on the Urology Cancer pathway; enabling delivery of the care in line with the National Cancer Services standards and NICE guidance for Urological Cancers.

**Main duties of the job**:
To provide practical support to the Macmillan Urology CNS team by contributing to patients’ assessment and care planning decisions through the supervision of the Macmillan Urology CNS team. To assist in the co-ordination of patient pathways for all patients who are suspected or diagnosed with a Urological cancer.

To work along side the Urology CNS team to provide a seamless cancer journey that will highlight any needs and allow us to safely signpost patients to the correct sources for support

To be an integral part of our growing team able to accurately access specific database, Chase results and facilitate MDT take calls and reassure patients referring onward when needed.

**Essential criteria**:

- Urology / cancer experience
- Working with urological and / or patients with cancer diagnosis
- Communication skills
- Working as a health care assistant
- Awareness of role of Macmillan services

**Desirable criteria**:

- Good IT skills
- Able to use hospital systems such as Health Views and Patient Centre

**Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- NVQ level 3 in Health care / willingness to undertake level 4
- Educated to GCSE level

**Desirable criteria**:

- NVQ level 4 in health care already achieved
