_**OAMH Assistant Psychologist - Inpatient Services Wolverhampton**_

**Contract** Permanent **Hours** Part time - 18.75 hours per week

**Main duties of the job**

To support the qualified psychologist in the delivery of specialist psychological assessments and interventions to older people with complex mental health conditions which may include behaviours which challenge.

To be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families

To support the qualified psychologist in the provision of psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other direct care staff in MDT

To promote at all times a positive image of older people who have complex organic or mental health needs.

To promote at all times a positive image of the service and the wider Trust.

In line with the banding of the post and its service context, and under the supervision of a qualified psychologist to be involved in:

- Multi-disciplinary training and development
- Delivery of psychological interventions
- Service audit and development
- Service evaluation and research
- Bring an understanding of psychological change processes to own role within MDT

**Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria**
- Have at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Psychology that allows Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership with the BPS
- Must have experience of working as an assistant psychologist or equivalent
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice relevant to the role

**Desirable criteria**
- Evidence of ongoing study and development
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
- Registration with BPS

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,147.00-£27,596.00 per year

Expected hours: 18.75 per week
