National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR) is a membership organisation within the rail sector focused on bringing together government, employers, training providers, colleges and universities to deliver industry needs. We work collaboratively across the transport industry and key stakeholders to provide awareness, advice, and support for members to enable them to help build effective skills strategies.
NSAR are recruiting for a full time Content Writer who will lead the marketing content strategy and calendar for the overall brand (and sub-brands). Responsible for the creation of all forms of content for internal and corporate communications, PR and general marketing to members and stakeholders.
**This is a hybrid role working 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week at home.**
This is a great opportunity for a proactive writer and communications specialist who will be expected to research relevant topics impacting the industry and interview specialists in the business to produce insightful content to disseminate to a wide range of target audiences with the objective to raise the company profile, increase member engagement, and support the commercial growth.
**Primary Function**
Working in collaboration with the Head of Marketing, and the Marketing and Communications Executive, who will assist in the design and execution of the marketing campaigns.
**Key responsibilities**:
- To take ownership of the content schedule and develop content, tools and processes that ensure timelines and quality standards are met;
- Creating, curating and leveraging new and existing content to position NSAR as the leading authority for knowledge and value in their sector;
- Take ownership of the SEO strategy and reporting on continual progress and improvements;
- Act as an internal partner and be proactive in developing relationships and collaborate with members, key industry stakeholders and influencers during content development;
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and Marketing and Communications Executive to amplify content across owned and earned channels;
- Assist the Head of Marketing with reporting to the senior team on the performance based on engagement and conversion measurements.
**Key tasks**:
- **Copywriting** - interview and extract technical knowledge from business leaders to create compelling content on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Tailoring content to the relevant audience considering the use of SEO keywords and Meta tags when producing content;
- **Social media **-copy will need to be written and tailored for the different social media channels being promoted across LinkedIn, Facebook & Twitter and internal platforms;
- **Research - **create and develop ongoing questions in the forms of surveys and benchmark studies to develop insightful content and improve understanding of our target audience;
- **Project management** - manage the full content production for key projects for the business including rebrands, new product launches and research campaigns working with external partners, influencers and agencies;
- **Proofreading** - will be required to proof read content produced internally or globally and tailor this for quality purposes;
- Working collaboratively with the rest of the NSAR team to prioritise business and information needs;
- To undertake any other duties at the request of a manager which are commensurate with this role.
**Essential attributes**:
- Previous proven experience in a Content Writer role, writing content client-side or agency;
- Must demonstrate a passionate for content in all forms;
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Able to demonstrate a proven track record of content or communication initiatives;
- Excellent all-round communication and interpersonal skills;
- A background in publishing, journalism, copywriting, public relations, communications and / or marketing desirable;
- Must stay up to date with trends and changes across the industry and can unpack technical complicated terms into simple, understandable messaging.

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
