Leasehold Officer

MMP Consultancy are currently recruiting for a Leasehold Management Officer on a permanent basis, based in Essex/ London.
The Leasehold Management Officer will manage Section 20 consultation on behalf of the group and provide a comprehensive customer focused service to Shared Owners and Leaseholders. The Leasehold Management Officer will require an understanding of relevant legislationand a strong eye for detail. They will also manage conflicting priorities, work to deadlines as well as advise on varying residential leasehold issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal with lease assignments and shared ownership resales, liaising with internal and external customers to resolve queries that arise as part of the process
- Implement statutory consultation and manage general consultation processes. Deal with customer enquiries and disputes that arise, including organising and attending leasehold surgeries
- Investigate and respond to disputes arising from service chargers or other leasehold issues. Prepare cases for Court, Mediation and Tribunals, attending and giving evidence where necessary
- Ensure that all appropriate Administration Charge are raised and charged in accordance with the lease and legal requirements
- Provide reports and statistical information as required
- Carry out any other tasks as may be reasonably assigned by the Home Ownership Manager
Key Knowledge & Experience:
- Numerate and literate to a minimum GCSE standard
- Knowledge of leases and understanding of leasehold management
- Good knowledge of key legislation
- Knowledge of Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and shared ownership
- Knowledge of service charge legislation and regulations
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS packages
- Understanding of customer care and quality issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, sufficient to write complex responses and to be able to adapt this approach for different audiences
- Ability to interpret leases
