UKSS Risk and Control is a specialist first line risk function operating within EQ's UK Shareholder Services division. The function is responsible for the implementation of the risk framework within the division, including its regulated entities.
As a senior member of the UKSS Risk and Controls function the Senior Risk Business Partner will be accountable for driving effective first line risk practices within the division and ultimately accountable to the Chief Risk Officer for UKSS.
**Core Duties/Responsibilities**
- Leading the development, maintenance, and continued enhancement of the risk profile across several products and services offered by UKSS.
- Guiding and advising the business throughout the risk event lifecycle, including the identification, escalation and effective remediation of incidents and breaches, driving the identification of root causes and trends.
- Leading and advising the business in its definition and delivery of risk metrics, such as key risk indicators, in relation to the applicable products and services.Ensuring EQ
- 's risk system(s) are kept up to date, ensuing they reflect the latest information regarding risk practices performed and any associated remediation activities, working in close collaboration with the Senior Risk Governance Manager.
- Providing expert insight and advice to the Senior Risk Governance Manager and colleagues in Group regarding enhancements to risk management policies and how risk practices are delivered within the division, including enhancements to the risk framework and calibration of the risk appetites, where relevant.Guiding and advising the business in its identification of risk-based '˜extreme but plausible' scenarios, and delivering scenario capital quantification calculations within EFSL
- 's ICARA, where relevant.
- Advising and guiding the Senior Risk Governance Manager for UKSS in the delivery and co-ordination of business continuity and operational resilience plans, and associated testing requirements.
- Being a trusted and collaborative risk partner for first line senior stakeholders within relationship management, business development, product, change and operational teams.
- Being a trusted and collaborative risk partner across multi-discipline risk specialist functions in the second line of defence, such as Group Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime, Information Security and Data Protection,
- Being a trusted and collaborative risk partner for internal and external assurance activities performed across the three lines of defence,
- Driving a strong risk governance structure and culture within UKSS.
- Personally comply with, and promote, the Conduct Rules.
**Skills, Capabilities and Attributes**
- Demonstrable experience in risk management or related disciplines, with a proven track record of managing senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrable strong expertise in risk frameworks and practices within the context of FCA-regulated financial services businesses.
- Proven experience in leading risk and control review meetings, ensuring internal policy requirements and control standards are adhered to.
- Proven experience in a line management role, with an ability to develop and lead other risk professionals.
- Ability to work across multiple products and services, partnering with second line functions
- Astute problem solver; strong analytical skills and highly competent with Microsoft Office.
- Strong work ethic, with an ability to self-organise and motivate, as well as an ability to manage multiple priorities and work to schedules, delivering high-quality output.
- Excellent stakeholder management, with an ability to empathise and consider various points of view to drive desirable outcomes for the business.
- Able to communicate and challenge in a succinct and clear manner with senior stakeholders (both internally and externally) and present advice and viable solutions clearly.
