We're looking for an **_Academy Engineer _**to join the Auger Team, covering Watford and the surrounding areas.

- Total package worth **£26,888.00 **dependent on previous experience. This includes a discretionary annual bonus and a generous 5% pension contribution.
- Working Hours are 47.5 Hours, Monday to Friday which includes your travel time door to door.
- We don’t typically work weekends, but voluntary overtime during the weekend is available, paid at time and a half.

**_ The role_**
The Academy Engineer role is a pathway to your career and progression within Auger and beyond. You will be assisting lead engineers with drain repairs on-site; daily duties include excavating, installation of below-ground pipework, aiding in relining works, surface reinstatement etc. Over time we will provide you with all the training and support needed for you to be developed and progressed into a lead engineer, which will require commitment to growing your skills. The majority of the training will be site-based 'on the job', with the Lead Engineer taking the time to share their knowledge and experience with you.

**_ Preferred Experience_**
- Previous groundwork experience
- Reinstatement of various different domestic surface types including; paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, concrete, etc.
- Use of CAT scanner in order to identify buried services and to trace/locate the drainage system by use of sonde
- Knowledge of basic drainage principles
- Knowledge of basic water mains principles
- Use of 360 Excavators (1.5T, 3T, 5T)
**_ Prerequisite_**
- A clear basic DBS check
- Driving license check
- Job competency and relevant experience
