**Level 2 Sports Coach Apprentice (Community Activator) - *This role is suitable for sports or dance coach applicants**

**The Company**
First Step Physical Education, part of the First Step Sports Group are specialists in the planning, organisation, delivery and assessment of Primary School PE, delivering quality PE and sports offerings, to schools across the Yorkshire region. First Step Physical Education is passionate about delivering high quality physical education, professionalism and achieving our vision of becoming Yorkshire’s largest, most respected Physical Education provider.

**The Position**

As an Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced coaches learning the skills required to successfully work in the industry and ultimately experience sports and physical activity coaching in various settings and environments, to be able to deliver independently. You will aid and provide support to the team to reach goals and objectives and support the smooth running of the organisation. You will learn how to create and deliver fun, educational, and safe coaching sessions for pupils of differing ages and abilities.
- £158.40 - £231.50 per week

**Training provided**:

- Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)

The company also encourages job related training and in addition to completing the apprenticeship, apprentices will be provided with:

- Level 2 Certificate in Coaching (Sport & Physical Activity)
- On-the-job training

- First Aid
- Safeguarding
- The apprentice may have to undertake other training deemed appropriate.

**Responsibilities**:

- Give positive first impressions to customers
- Assist in the delivery of sport & physical activity sessions
- Deliver to FSSG Standards and expectations
- Demonstrate best practic
- Coach the relevant skills, tactics and techniques for numerous sports and physical activities.
- Deliver fun, engaging and educational sessions
- Monitoring and enhancing performance by providing tuition, encouragement and constructive feedbac
- Maintain positive relationships with all prospective and existing clients and customer
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of others and ensure safe use of premises and equipment.

**Knowledge and Experience Requirements**
- Regular and competent sports participant
- Understanding and awareness of sports and physical activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all participants including children, parents and schools.
- Be decisive, maintain good discipline, inspire confidence and give encouragement.
- Be enthusiastic about physical activity.
- GCSE 4+ in Maths and English.

Additional Requirements
- Ability to regularly travel within the UK but mainly within the local area.
- Full Driving Licence and own vehicle (Desired)
