**Job Purpose and Background** in summary**

The SBTi is looking for a Project Officer to join the net-zero team. The Project Officer will provide important support to integrate the Net-Zero Standard into the initiative as well as the wider climate action ecosystem.

The Project Officer for Net-Zero is a new role within the SBTi, working with the team that recently developed the SBTi’s Net-Zero Standard - the first standard for setting corporate net-zero targets in line with climate science.

The SBTi is seeking a dedicated, mission-driven Project Officer to join the highly motivated, successful net-zero team at the Science Based Targets initiative.

**About the SBTi Team**

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Assisting net-zero team with integration of net-zero throughout the wider initiative, which involves working closely with all other teams within the SBTi
- Support to develop and update resources related to the Net-Zero Standard
- Use and maintenance of SBTi project management and collaboration tools (e.g. Asana, Slack, Google Drive, etc.)

**You will have the following skills and experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Experience in science-based targets, greenhouse gas accounting, preferably in line with the GHG Protocol, net-zero and corporate climate strategy
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised, understand concepts easily, keen attention to detail
- Creates consistency and can prioritise, flexible and able to work independently in an international and multi-cultural remote work environment
- Enthusiastic team player

**Desir**able** **criteria** (optional)**
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to digest and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
- Understanding of corporate climate action space

This is a full time, 12 month fixed-term role (with the possibility of extension) based at either CDP’s London or Berlin office.

**Salary and benefits**: £47,000 - £60,000 per annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
