**Main Purpose of Job**
***The Solar & Battery Senior Authorised Person is a key role within our Operations team, you will be responsible for safety from the system on our solar and battery assets, initially in the 33kv -132kv range. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of the management and control of electricity substation assets up to and including 132kV. The role can be physically demanding and will involve working outdoors in all weather conditions. You may be required to participate in standby duties for fault restoration work and emergency switching. Future development of this role will include undertaking SAP duties for a higher voltage (275kv and 400kv).
**To be considered for this role, we would love you to have**:
- Demonstrable experience of working on Distribution Network Operator systems, preferably with SAP authorisation and be authorised for EHV/HV/LV switching on assets up to and including 132kv, as you will be carrying out operational duties, including the issue of Safety Documents, on our assets.
- Experience of working on EHV Distribution voltages and an understanding of commissioning, switching and emergency response at this level would be advantageous but not crucial
- Experience of the Solar and Battery sector an advantage but not mandatory
- A good understanding of the Model Distribution Safety Rules along with NOP 3 or 4 authority would be ideal, inputting Planned Supply Interruptions & writing switching schedules would be an expected requirement of the role.
- High regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority.
- A full UK driving licence is essential for this role
**Functional and Technical Skills**
- Minimum HNC qualifications preferably in Electrical Engineering
- Member of a professional body (e.g., IET) is preferable but not essential
- Professional with excellent communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- Preferably highly competent with key Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Work / Excel / PowerPoint), Office 365 and SharePoint.
