**Job description**:
The Programme Planner will play a crucial role within the Infected Blood Compensation Authority’s Central Programme Management Office. This position involves supporting the delivery of programmes by managing comprehensive programme plans, ensuring the timely achievement of objectives, and facilitating effective stakeholder engagement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Programme Delivery**
- Support the successful delivery of the programme, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
**Programme Planning**
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust programme plans that outline key milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resources needed for successful completion of programme objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify and define project objectives, scope, and requirements, ensuring that all necessary elements are integrated into the planning process.
- Monitor and adjust programme plans to accommodate changes in project timelines or resource availability, ensuring agility in response to evolving programme needs.
**Critical Dependency Management**
- Identify and manage critical dependencies among internal workstreams and other government departments, ensuring that potential bottlenecks are proactively addressed to prevent delays.
- Facilitate planning workshops with relevant stakeholders to establish clear interdependencies and ensure alignment across programme activities.
**Risk and Issue Management**
- Detect and manage programme assumptions, risks, and issues, utilising risk management frameworks to mitigate potential challenges to programme success.
**Progress Reporting**
- Regularly report on programme progress, challenges, and findings to senior governance boards, utilising data analytics and reporting tools to highlight key metrics and drive informed decision-making.
**Resource Management**
- Manage programme team resources effectively to ensure appropriate allocation of personnel and materials, optimising team synergy for increased efficiency and productivity during implementation.
**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Support communication and engagement with key stakeholders, ensuring clarity on the purpose and intended outcomes of projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all parties involved to facilitate collaboration and timely sharing of information.
**Person specification**:
**Essential**:
- Proven track record of programme/project management, particularly in programme planning.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands in a challenging environment to deliver on tight timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey intricate planning details to diverse audiences.
- Strong capability to build and maintain excellent working relationships at senior levels.
**Desirable**:
- A recognised PPM qualification or a willingness to work towards one.
**Additional information**:
A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
