**What is the job?**

Simply put, the role of the Industrial Services Operative is hard graft. Working in small teams, you will be carrying out heavy duty cleaning of power stations, oil/gas installations and other industrial sites. The role is physically demanding and may be hot, dirty, smelly, dusty or all of the above and will include working in confined spaces. Some of this work is carried out while the sites conduct their annual maintenance shutdowns, which last 2-4 weeks. You may need to travel across the country, staying in hotels at the work location for the duration of the shutdown, working long hours to ensure the job is completed within the allocated time.

**Who are we looking for?**

All you need is a driving licence and two things, aptitude and attitude:
**Aptitude**. Have you got the ability to learn the skills required to make a good Industrial Services Operative? Following company induction, which includes a drug and alcohol test, you will start your academy journey with a CCNSG Safety Passport. This will be followed by the City & Guilds qualification in Safe Entry into Confined Spaces; the Water Jetting Association Safety Awareness and Surface Preparation high pressure water jetting qualification plus a First Aid qualification. Some Operatives will also be put onto a driving course to drive Large Goods Vehicles.

Alongside the formal training you will be mentored by a Team Leader. You will undertake online courses in Asbestos and Environmental Awareness among others plus on-the-job training to operate the specialised equipment such as the Disab, possibly the most powerful industrial vacuum equipment you can get.

**Attitude**: To succeed in our academy, you will need to be open to learning new skills. You must be prepared to work hard with lots of overtime; you will regularly work away from home, living in hotels for a few weeks at a time whilst working on customer sites. Teamwork is key; no matter how tough the work gets, you and your team-mates must be supportive of each other. You must be respectful and courteous to others: customers, colleagues and members of the public. Above all you must be safety conscious; we take great pride in our safety culture and safety record and you will need to keep a sharp lookout for your own safety and the safety of others around you.

**Salary**: £18,600.00-£35,000.00 per year
