**Job summary**:
The Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) mission is to train and educate aeronautical engineering, electronic and mechanical engineering, and communications and information systems personnel and prepare them to operate in a combat environment in order to meet the Defence requirement.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The post holder will support the Head Portfolio (OF5) to deliver the Defence College of Technical Training Head Quarters (DCTT HQ) major projects and In-Year Change Plan. Specifically the post holder will focus on the following key tasks:
1. Lead and manage the project governance, including maintenance of the schedule of workflows and meetings, stakeholder management, identifying areas of concerns to the Project Board, and providing support where necessary.

3. Lead on the development and support of business cases, including liaison Defence Portfolio and Approvals Secretariat (DPAS) to ensure smooth progression through the full Approvals chain.

4. Develop and manage PfO resources and workflow to achieve outputs and driving continuous improvement.

5. Represent PfO through attendance at DCTT HQ and wider meetings, briefing on matters of the moment and briefing back to PfO of feedback and information or knowledge.

6. Act as Deputy Hd PfO when required.

7. Act as Line Manager to monitor and develop Civil Servants within the PfO Team.

**Person specification**:
**Essential Skills for the post are**:
a. The ability to work in a changing and demanding environment.

b. Full UK driving licence.

c. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels.

d. Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.

e. Excellent proven collaborative team working and leadership skills.

f. Ability to analyse complex and wide-ranging questions, issues and information, providing recommended solutions to problems.

**Essential experience for the post is**:
a. The individual must be able to demonstrate a successful track record and significant experience of project planning / delivery at different stages of the life cycle.

**Desirable experience for the post is**:
a. Experience in working within a project or programme environment is highly desirable and/or qualifications in project or programme management (opportunities for formal qualifications will be available).

b. Knowledge of the military training environment.

c. Skills in oral and written communications and the use of Information Technology, including the input to spreadsheets

**Desirable qualifications are**:
a. PMP or PRINCE 2.

b. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or willingness to complete the training.
