**Senior Occupational Therapist Band 6**

**Location**: Walsall

**Working Hours**: 8:00 - 16:00 / Full-time

**Pay Rate**: £33,706 to £40,588 a year pro rata

The Client is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 286,700, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor housesthe full range of district general hospital services under one roof.

**About the role**:
In line with the Trusts policy, consent must be obtained prior to any intervention with a patient and documented appropriately.

To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including the management of patients in our care.

To be responsible for organizing and planning your own caseload to meet service and patient priorities, readjusting plans as situations change or arise.

To undertake a skillful and proficient assessment of patients, including those with diverse/multi pathologies. To use proficient clinical reasoning skills, assessment and treatment techniques to provide an individualized treatment programme, in the hospitalor the patient's home.

To formulate and deliver an individual Occupational Therapy treatment programme based on sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options, using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge and skills of treatment techniques.

To be assigned a defined area of responsibility for managing patients with particular conditions. To be responsible for providing appropriate Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment plans for patients within this remit.

**Skills Required**:
Degree/ diploma in Occupational Therapy
HCPC registration
Demonstrable post-graduate experience, with a number of rotations in physical health
Experience of clinical practice as an Occupational Therapist
Experience in the NHS as an Occupational Therapist
