Sensory Integration Occupational Therapist (band 6/7 equivalent)Are you passionateabout working with children who have encountered a difficult andtraumatic start to life? We are looking to expand ourSensory Integration provision to meet the growing need of our serviceusers for high quality assessments and interventions. We recognise thecrucial role sensory integration can have in achieving good outcomes forthe children and families we support and having got our sensory packageestablished, we need the right person to help us grow and develop it.Youwill be working closely with our existing SI OTs and team ofPsychologists and Therapists to offer multi-disciplinary assessments ofattachment and sensory needs for children. You may also be offeringconsultations to families regarding their childs sensory needs andthere is scope to offer direct work to children and families as well asconsultation and training to the wider network.The ChildPsychology Service (TCPS) CIC is a not-for-profit organisation whose aimis to provide caring, therapeutic, psychological support to childrenand their families. We provide a free-at-the-point-of-access service tofamilies and deliver training and consultations to partnerorganisations. We work closely with our colleagues in the NHS and socialcare to provide specialist, therapeutic assessments and interventionsthat arent always available within statutory services.Main duties of the jobProvide high-quality sensory assessments & therapy to children and their families remotely & potentially in their homes/schools under supervisionTo provide effective sensory therapies to children under supervisionProvide high quality, succinct assessment reports, which guide interventionsTo develop your skills to enable you to deliver SI parent consultations in the futureProvide high quality, succinct evaluation reports, which demonstrate effectiveness of interventionsTo build and maintain relationships with children and their families & the professional networks around them, often in highly challenging circumstancesProvide consultation & training to professionalsCommunicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and management of riskMaintain the high reputation of the serviceWork with the team to develop new areas of service provision e.g. consultation to Residential Homes, training to schools etcWork within the needs of a social enterpriseEnsure that work is high qualityReach productivity targets required to sustain the servicePlay an active role in promoting and advocating the serviceEnsure that all TCPS policies & procedures are understood and put into practiceAttend & actively participate in staff development sessions, team meetings, individual or group supervision, clinical supervision & other meetings as requiredTo work flexiblyTo undertake any other duties as requiredAbout usThe Child PsychologyService (TCPS) is a Social Enterprise that has been established forthirteen years and is built with therapeutic principles guiding itsstructure from the inside out.
