**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. To carry out general maintenance and decoration as required throughout the home.

2. To ensure the home is always in good decorative order.

3. To ensure all external areas and grounds are kept tidy and well maintained to ensure the smart appearance of the Home.

4. To supervise outside contractors.

5. To minimize costs by monitoring energy consumption, written records to be kept

6. To test and monitor temperatures on both domestic hot water and heat emitter surfaces, written records to be kept.

8. To ensure all equipment is periodically maintained.

9. To understand and ensure the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures

10. To attend all training sessions as required, specifically statutory training including manual handling.

11. To report immediately to the Manager any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a colleague or yourself.

12. To undertake driving duties as required.

**TASKS**

Checking through maintenance log for immediate actions needed DAILY

Testing of fire alarm system (by rotation) WEEKLY

To include checking that all fire doors close

properly and adjusting if necessary

Flushing of all shower heads and running of water on taps WEEKLY

that are little used.

Checking All Bedrails WEEKLY

Check Call Bell System

Check Wheelchairs

Room Checks

Check and sign off any completed action plan

Monitor fire risk assessments

Testing of emergency lighting (to include MONTHLY

switching off for 2hrs to recharge batteries)

Water Temperature

Wheelchair Checks

Testing of all thermostatically controlled MONTHLY

water valves and adjusting if necessary.

To maintain required temperature

Remove and clean behind radiator covers

COVID-19 considerations:
Full PPE will be required whilst working on site. Training with regard to infection control, health and safety and COVID procedures will be given.
