**Your role**:
We’re looking for a Water Quality Data Analysis Officer to support local bathing water quality improvements, working closely with our Bathing Water Planning Specialist. You’ll be part of the Yorkshire Area Integrated Environment Planning team, a primarily water-focused team with expertise in water quality, water resources, and river basin planning.
You’ll collaborate with area operational teams, national policy makers, and key stakeholders, particularly water companies, to help shape the environmental plans that guide Yorkshire’s priorities.

**What will you do**:
You will:
- Compile and analyse sampling results and report internally and to external stakeholders.
- Design, and undertake, a process to identify reasons for high bathing water results.
- Analyse and report on high results, trend analysis and signs of deterioration to identify priority beaches.
- Data provision internally and to support external partners.
- Analysis and presentation of data collected as part of bathing water investigations.
Depending on skills and experience there is also the opportunity to support planning specialists working with water companies on their statutory environmental improvement programme (Price Review). Therefore, knowledge and/or experience of some of the following would be an advantage:
- Bathing Water Regulations.
- Water Framework Directive.
- Water industry wastewater management.
- Water company performance/regulation.
- Water company price review or asset management plans.
**What you’ll need**:
**Essential**
- Proven experience in gathering, maintaining, and quality-assuring data and information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Data analysis and reporting using Excel.
**Desirable**
- Data analysis using PowerBi, R or Python.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to plan, track, deliver and evaluate work.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a larger team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise and deliver work to a high standard with a keen eye for detail
- Knowledge and/or experience of Bathing Water regulations, Water Framework Directive, Water industry waste water management, Water company performance/regulation, water company price review or asset management plans.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
Please note that a reserve list will be held, and you may be offered other roles in other locations including temporary roles, which may be similarly aligned to this role.
