We are looking for a highly motivated individual to recruit to the position of Speech and Language Therapist to join the Department of Psychological Therapies at Thornford Park Hospital; we require you to be registered with the HCPC.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to provide SaLT input onto a specialised 14-bedded low secure service for males with a primary diagnosis of ASD in addition to the Medium Secure services for male and female patients with a Learning Disability.The post holder will form an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing consultation, assessment, and intervention to the service.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Contributing to audit and research as directed by the line manage
- Autonomous in managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users.
- Attending regular clinical and service development meetings, such as MDT’s, CTR’s, referrals, and other hospital-wide meetings
- Be an integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team
- Carrying out Speech and Language assessments for individual with ASD/LD, and making recommendations for how to best support their communication needs
- Providing Speech and Language interventions to patients on both ASD and LD services.
- Maintaining monthly clinical supervision as well as regular line-management supervision
- Providing professional advice in finding resolutions to problems/challenges - with the emphasis on improving service-user experience.
- Providing both written & verbal contributions to MDT & CTR process
- Supporting the MDT in the development and review of care plans
- Liaising with external agencies to support patient’s care pathways
- Contributing to professional development within the team
- Contributing to teaching around ASD/LD and PBS.

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**
- To be registered with HCPC
- Experience of working with families
- Evidence of Continuing professional development
