We at Tudor Employment are proud to be recruiting for a temporary HR Administrator on behalf of our client in the education sector, based in Wolverhampton (WV1).
You will provide effective, high quality administrative support to the Deputy Director of Human Resources and the Employee Relations team. The postholder will act as the initial point of contact for communications and queries directed to the Deputy Director, handling sensitive and complex issues in a professional and objective manner.
Are you the right person for this role? Desirably, the HR Admin will:
- Be educated to A Level standard or above
- Have well developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Have previous experience of providing diary management and minute/note taking
- Desirably, have your own transport as occasionally you may be expected to work from other sites
What will I be doing? Day to day duties of the HR Admin role are:
- Provision of effective administration assistance to the Deputy Director of HR and the Employee Relations team, including organising and managing workload; dealing with matters on the Deputy Director’s behalf where possible; disseminating matters on the Deputy Director’s behalf to other staff where appropriate; prioritising/reprioritising issues as they arise; electronic diary management
- Acting on the Deputy Director’s behalf during their absence to ensure that all necessary actions are taken to progress matters appropriately - chasing responses, triggering follow-up action
- Accurate preparation of documents and correspondence, including development of presentation materials to support presentations to UEB, various committees, trades unions etc.
- Maintaining records in appropriate formats and filing for retrieval as necessary, including purchase order requisition processing and record keeping
- Ensuring that the Deputy Director of HR is appropriately prepared for forthcoming meetings/ conferences/external visits with the relevant papers, background information etc.
- Provision of administrative support for selected meetings chaired by the Deputy Director of HR, negotiating agenda, writing minutes and ensuring follow up action is completed
- Arranging travel and accommodation; preparation of itineraries and compilation of relevant expense claims
- Event organisation (for example, administration and organisation of Staff Awards Scheme and Long Service Award presentations), including room bookings, refreshments, AV requirements, issuing invitations etc
- Fist point of contact for departmental Health & Safety matters; maintains records of accident reports and inspections; co-ordinates training for departmental First Aiders, etc
- Providing support to the Employee Relations team including setting up hearing panels; ensuring room bookings etc.
- Providing general support to the wider HR team including course bookings, setting up new users on HR systems, and ensuring new starters in the department have appropriate equipment and access
What are the hours of work?
The HR Admin would be expected to work full-time, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:45AM and 5:15PM from the site location in Wolverhampton, though occasional travel to other sites may be required.
What is the rate of pay?
The HR Admin will be paid between £10.96 and £11.53 per hour dependant on experience.
