There is an exciting opportunity available in the Urgent & Emergency Care Division for a Band 4 Medical Staffing Co-ordinator. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with great attention to detail to manage the medical staffing function within the division and act as a central point of contact forour junior doctors and provide them with local support. You will work alongside other operational staff within the team to provide support with rota planning, locum usage, annual, study and sick leave for the medical workforce, and will report to the Urgent & Emergency Care Service Manager.

You will need excellent communication skills and a strong focus on engagement with staff at all levels, and should have the ability to work with and improve existing information systems and databases. With rapidly changing priorities this will require the ability to use your initiative, to manage your own workload and work under pressure.
- To manage all of the operational medical staffing arrangements across the Urgent & Emergency Care division, ensuring that all medical staff have undergone a full induction programme and have completed all required mandatory training in conjunction with the Training Department.
- To monitor all medical staff leave and absence requests, ensuring that a safe level of cover is provided at all times, balancing the requirements of both the individual and service through communication and negotiations with the Clinical Leads and Operational Managers.
- To update the on-call rotas in liaison with the Assistant Service Managers, ensuring that both switchboard and medical teams are notified.
- To ensure that all rotas produced are ETWD and New Deal compliant
- The department uses Healthroster to manage the medical rota
