The following new role has arisen at our Luton Base;
Technical Estimator

Monday - Friday, Permanent

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor, the newly created role of Technical Estimator will act as the Company’s initial point of contact for customers regarding scheduled maintenance.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Liaison with customers to plan their maintenance requirements and define the extent of the work pack content, demonstrating the ability to understand the customer’s maintenance requirements and translate all customer supplied information onto the relevantsystem to provide an accurate quotation.
- Ensure the following is discussed with Engineering Department prior to a schedule input:

- The work pack content
- The customer’s desired input/output dates
- The calculated man-hours estimated to complete the work pack
- The elapsed time anticipated
- Identify and resolve any variation between Engineering department capability and customer requirement.
- Certification coverage and any labour requirement
- Able to raise and populate a high-level Engineering Proposal with information gathered through the RFQ to a high standard before providing this to the customer in an acceptable time-scale.
- Establish / review procedures and systems to enable the production of Technical Estimates within Harrods Aviation.
- Keeping Technical Services and Engineering advised of any potential and confirmed maintenance inputs arising from a request for quote.
- Updating Top plot to indicate potential and confirmed maintenance inputs arising from a request for quote.
- Undertake all duties and tasks that may be delegated by the Engineering Manager and/or Technical Services Supervisor from time to time.

THE HOURS

Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week, as below;
08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday

08:00 to 16:30 Friday

Occasional work outside of these hours may be required to support the business. Travel to other HAL bases or customer facilities may occasionally be required.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

Previous experience of working within an Engineering or Technical Services environment would be beneficial, however this is not essential. Knowledge of a Part-145 Maintenance Repair Organisation would be advantageous.

Good computer skills (Microsoft packages, general working knowledge of systems) are a requirement.

Applicants should have an organised, adaptable and flexible approach with strong interpersonal skills and a diplomatic approach. You will be enthusiastic, willing to learn and maintain a professional appearance and manner at times in sometimes challengingcircumstances.

The ability to prioritise in an ever-changing environment, remain calm and adapt under pressure are essential for the role.

Excellent communication skills are key to this role, combined with courtesy and integrity which are equally as important. Good administration skills and computer literacy are essential qualities.

The role may at times be required to provide support at both locations therefore a full UK driving license is essential, as is holding the right to live and work in the UK. You will also need to have a 5-year checkable history in order to obtain an airportID pass.

Remuneration - Up to £30,000 basic per annum.
