**Driver/Operative**

**Location**:Telford Street, Newport, NP19 0ES

**Start Date**: ASAP
**Contract Duration**: 3+ Months
**Working Hours**: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week
**Pay Rate**: £ 13.26 per hour

**Responsibilities**:

- Complete daily cleansing tasks as specified in the contract and according to the Daily Route Schedules.
- Operate Council vehicles in compliance with the Driver Handbook instructions.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations, including wearing the Council uniform and protective gear.
- Ensure personal and others' safety by cooperating with managers/supervisors and reporting incidents or faults.
- Attend all training courses as instructed.
- Perform driving and cleansing duties as directed by the Manager or Supervisors.
- Supervise Cleansing Operatives when working together.

- **Education/Qualifications/Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of the Newport town area (Essential)
- Understanding of public sector demands/requirements (Essential)
- **Experience**:

- Experience in refuse/cleansing services (Desirable)
- Supervisory experience (Desirable)
- **Aptitudes and Skills**:

- Ability to work on own initiative (Essential)
- Good team player (Essential)
- Ability to work to targets and deadlines (Essential)
- Ability to prioritize and manage work progress (Essential)
- Good customer care skills (Essential)
