This role is based from Bristol Royal Infirmary - BS2 8HW.

**Job Overview**:The PTLO position helps bridge the gap between hospitals and the Operations team on a daily basis. A patient liaison officer is committed to improving patient experience, ensuring that concerns are dealt with in an open and timely manner.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
- Understand the pressures of the Trusts and the daily activity and pass on findings back to the control teams and manager.
- Work alongside control, plan and despatch teams to ensure KPIs are achieved.
- Work alongside discharging department to ensure ‘priority processes for patient TTOs, where applicable
- Work alongside Care Package and discharge planning teams
- Support with incidents and complaints
- Monitor escalation process for their responsible area and liaise with Day Control and Hospital leads supplying all escalation data on a regular basis with supporting data and actions moving forward
- Discharge/Transfer/Out Patients, PTLO will report on delays and put actions in place ready to be escalated to the Trust. They will liaise with control over availability, attend bed meetings where applicable, to chase up patients ETA’s/to see if there are any transport requirements and will also act as a point of contact for the other PTLO’s for support and guidance

**Person Specification**

You will have excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills and will be able to demonstrate negotiation and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to convey complex information in a patient-friendly, easily understandable way, with a positive outlook for this busy and demanding role.
