A Residential Child care worker is required for our small 'family styled' children home for four young women, we take an therapeutic proactive approach when caring for our young people, this role is challenging yet rewarding, all of our young people have experiences childhood trauma which can lead to behaviours of real concern, as role models, you will be supporting them through this, in caring, non-judgmental, and nurturing way.

This is a residential role therefore shift work including some evenings and at least one over night sleep in a week.

Although preferable, experience is not a deciding factor for us, it is more important to have someone who has a real genuine interest for improving the lives of underprivileged young people, a nurturing, non-judgmental personality and a want to learn and develop new skills. This role does not include personal care.

The main duties involved:

- Support young people with all aspects of their care, including education, health, activities, in line with the Care Standards.
- Accompany young people to school, appointments and activities such as shopping trips or day trips out.
- Promoting a happy and positive environment at all times for our young people.
- Instilling belief through encouragement and praise.
- Recording and maintaining records to a high professional standard.
- **Flexibility to undertake shifts, working including evenings and nights, weekends and bank holidays.**
- **Able to undertake at least one sleep-in shift a week, on a rota basis (additional allowance of £50 per sleep-in).**

Applicants should have:

- Genuine commitment to working and supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
- Have the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships with young people.
- Have the ability to work with young people in an non-judgmental or institutionalized way.
- Resilience to cope with challenging behavior and circumstances.
- Have high personal and professional standards.
- Flexibility to undertake shift working including evenings and nights, weekends and bank holidays and sleep-ins.
- Level 3 Children and Young People workforce in Health and Social Care is desirable, if toy do not have this qualification, we will put you through it.
- Ability to write professional reports and confidentially use Office 365.
- Ideally with an DBS, however we will carry this out prior to you starting.

**Salary**: £11.95-£13.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred)
