We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Assistant ( Laundry, Cleaning, Kitchen assistant), on a part
- time basis, working **12-16 hours a week**

**The shift pattern for Domestic Staff is as follows**:
Laundry shift 10:30am
- 2pm

Cleaning shift 9am
- 1pm

Kitchen Assistant 10:30am-2:30pm

The position covers working in all three areas, it will be a mixture of shifts every week.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

**Laundry**:

- Washing, drying and ironing of residents clothes and household linen to a high standard
- Maintain clothes in a good state of repair
- Make good repairable items and report items beyond repair to the Manager or Nurse in charge
- Putting away residents personal clothing in the appropriate wardrobes and drawers
- Restocking of household linen
- Ensuring cleanliness of laundry room and equipment
- Report any faults of laundry equipment to the Manager or Nurse in charge
- Ensure foul linen is washed in the sluice machine
- To carry out any other duties, within reason that from time to time are deemed necessary by management

**Cleaning**:

- Cleaning the home to an acceptably high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Follow cleaning schedules.
- To use appropriate methods and correct materials to clean all surfaces and soft furnishings according to the requirements of the cleaning schedule and Health and Safety regulations.
- To follow Health and Safety procedures when dealing with the disposal of waste, and in cleaning and laundering throughout the home.

**Kitchen Assistant**
- Assisting the Cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
- Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
- To follow Health and Safety procedures and Food Safety procedures at all times
- Preparing the dining room for Service Users, setting up the tables
- Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
- Disposing of rubbish

All the training will be provided.

**Qualifications and Skills**

Minimum requirements:

- Previous experience working as a Domestic within a Care Home setting would be an advantage.
- DBS check (can be completed on-site)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 16 per week
