YMCA Nottingham is looking for a Domestic Assistant to join us on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, predominately 9am to 5.30pm.

Working as part of our Supported Housing team, you will work with another Domestic Assistant to travel between the homes you are allocated which are all situated on the outskirts of Nottingham city centre.

It is essential you can drive and have your own car as you will need this to travel between properties.

**Job Description**:
On a weekly basis, you will follow a planned schedule of work, ensuring homes are regularly cleaned as well as providing deep cleans and move-in cleans making rooms welcome for new residents.

**You can expect your day to day work to include**:
Wipe down, dust and hoover stairs and corridors

Dust the lounge/dining room

Wipe down and sanitise surfaces, tables, TV’s, light switches and door handles

Wipe down all kitchen surfaces, cupboard doors and sink

Clean ovens, microwave, kettle and toaster

Clean shower and/or bath, sink, toilet

Clean mirrors and shower glass

Mop all the floors

Hoover throughout

Empty bins

**On a monthly basis, you will also**:
Deep Clean Carpets with use of Vac machine.

Defrost and deep clean fridge/freezer

Clean internal windows

We will supply all the products and equipment you need and also provide full health and safety/COSHH training to ensure you are working in a safe manner.

It goes without saying, you will take a huge amount of pride in your work and have the highest standards in your work.

You are likely to have worked in a domestic or commercial cleaning role before and be confident and comfortable working in an highly diverse and varied role where genuinely no day is ever the same

We hope you will see this role as a way of supporting our residents and have the patience and understanding to support their journey to independent living beyond their time with us. You will get to know our residents as you visit their home and we hope you would foster a positive, and trusted relationship. We would also want you to know you could report anything that gave you concern about their well-being or safety knowing that we would be able to intervene and support them should they need it.

There might be occasion where you are lone working so we use the People Safe app to ensure your safety while in the properties.

You will need access to your own car which you will use to travel between houses; we pay £100 per month (included in your salary) for the use of your car for work. This is an additional £1200 per year so help pay towards the running of your vehicle. You can claim up to 45p per mile for any business miles you travel.
