Skilled Piling Operative for Driven Precast Piling

**About the role**
Our Balfour Beatty **Ground Engineering **business has a terrific opportunity for a **Skilled Piling Operative (Driven Precast Piling)** to join our team based at our site in **Derby**

As a **Skilled Piling Operative (Driven Precast Piling)**, **you will ensure all piling operations are carried out safely, Including coordination of the plant & vehicle movements on the site, efficiently and to a good standard.
**What you'll be doing**
Other key responsibilities will be:

- Leading by example
- Being pro-active and thinking ahead on the project by working closely with the Supervisors
- Deliver toolbox talks and getting involved in morning briefings
- Procedural requirements (for example: piling platform and Permits, use of radios, Piling rig Lift plans, Plant exclusion zones)
- Ensure the works are carried out in the most efficient and safe manner
- Report all near misses, hazards or observations via the hotline and to the site Supervisor
- Follow company/manufacturers procedures to ensure standards are met
- Notify the Site Supervisor of any matters that affect the progress of works (including breakdowns & damages, etc.)
- Ensure daily maintenance checks are carried out, reports are correctly completed on time and submitted to the site Supervisor
- Ensure relevant task briefings have been carried out prior to tasks undertaken
- Make sure the quality and quantity of work produced is at required levels
- Be prepared to work overtime/flexible on breaks as and when the contract requires

**Who we're looking for**
You will have the following:

- Multi-skilled (for example MEWP, Fire Marshall, Traffic Marshall, Harness Training, Manual Handling,)
- Be able to move to different disciplines within Ground Engineering (CFA, LDP & Mini)
- Good communication skills (to all levels including Supervisors)
- Slinger/Signaller & Piling Rig Attendant CPCS card
- HSE CSCS card
- Relevant manufacture/supplier training where required
- Knowledge of piling techniques in rotary discipline
