Our Client is a leading Engineering business based in the North East of England. The company currently require a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join the business.
**Purpose of the Role**:

- Liaise with external and internal stakeholders in order to see a product from initial concept through design to manufacture and test.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with customers to establish their requirements and translate into a compliant, efficient design that the business can manufacture.
- Create commercially priced quotations in a timely manner by use of in-house design tools and guides working closely with Commercial department.
- Follow up on the outcome of quotations where required.
- Generate component and product drawings for Customers, Suppliers and the Production Department.
- Check and review designs, job cards and Engineering drawings on an ongoing basis to ensure consistency, accuracy and fulfilment of customer specification, ensuring any amendments are made as necessary.
- Provide support and input to the Production Department in respect of product improvement.
- Provide technical support to customers and the Production, Test, Inspection and Quality Departments.
- Work closely with all departments to improve the overall performance of the business through interactive relationship management.

**Skills Required**:

- Preferably qualified to Degree level in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar.
- Experience in voltage & current transformer design and manufacture advantageous.
- Working knowledge and experience of power magnetics products, AC and DC power systems including electrical protection devices, rectifiers, chokes and inductors preferred.
- Experience with electrical test and measurement systems advantageous. 2D & 3D Auto CAD drawing skills together with good IT and communication skills essential.

**Salary**:

- Up to £40,000 plus company benefits.
