**HR Administrator / Human Resources Administration Assistant** with experience of delivering high quality customer care, strong organisation skills and basic knowledge of HR and/or recruitment best practice and processes is required by a well-establishedCharity based in Reading, Berkshire.

**SALARY**:£18,500 - £19,000 pro rata

**WORKING HOURS**: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HR Administrator / Human Resources Administration Assistant with experience of delivering high quality customer care, strong organisation skills and basic knowledge of HR and/or recruitment best practice andprocesses.

As the HR Administrator / Human Resources Administration Assistant you will provide administrative support to the People Services and Recruitment Teams, specifically administering the recruitment and on-boarding transactions ensuring adherence to HR policiesand processes.

As the HR Administrator / Human Resources Administration Assistant you will provide exceptional customer service, carrying out duties in a timely and effective manner in line with Service Level Agreements.

**DUTIES**

Your duties and responsibilities as the HR Administrator / Human Resources Administration Assistant will include:

- Request and follow up employment references in line with SLAs and escalating any inconsistencies or concerns
- Respond to employment reference requests in line with SLAs
- Initiate disclosure checks and new starter occupational health referrals
- Ensure HR system is maintained with accurate and timely data
- Maintain TopDesk call management system ensuring that all calls and queries are logged, and the appropriate audit trails are available
- Raise issues as appropriate and contribute to ongoing process development and improvement of HR Service Centre
- Ensure that a systematic and accurate electronic filing system and record keeping procedure is followed by all in the department
- Provide support to People Services team by acting as a first point of contact for all customers

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**

**Essential**
- Proven experience of working within a team environment
- Demonstrable experience of working in a busy and varied administration role
- Basic knowledge of HR and/or recruitment best practice and processes
- Experience of delivering high quality customer service
- Demonstrable experience of working with a database and a working knowledge of HR Systems
- Demonstrable and current working knowledge of the Data Protection Act
- Proven ability to prioritise effectively under pressure and multitask including strong organisation skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK

**Desirable**
- Certificate in Personnel Practice Level 3 or equivalent experience
- Previous experience of working in an HR and/or recruitment function
- Demonstrable experience of Safer recruitment and pre-employment checks, including references, disclosures and right to work
