Social Work First are recruiting for:Local Authority South London Team Manager - Referral and Assessment Up to £42phCaseloads: Bromley has made a huge investment in terms of staffing in order to ensure that social workers have lower caseloads. Referraland Assessment Social Workers will carry an average of 8 families. Social workers in the service are positive, motivated and feel that their current caseload allows them complete good social work interventions with families.Flexible Working: Flexible workingbut social workers are expected to undertake face to face visits to families. All social workers work in the office on a rota basis with their teams. Expenses: Locums are able to claim back mileage from their place of work to visits (this does not includetravel from home to work). The service also have work oyster cards that can be provided This locum opportunity is within the Referral and Assessment Service.The Referral and Assessment Teams receive all new referrals from the Bromley MASH and undertake Childand Family assessments to determine how best children's needs can be met. There are 6 teams, each consisting of a team manager and 5 social workers. The teams go onto duty for one week every 6 weeks and during their duty week, social workers will receive newallocations.Referral and Assessment Team Managers oversee/manage approximately 50 families at any given time. The referrals can be: - Child Protection - children who have suffered significant harm, or are at risk of suffering significant harm. Investigationsand assessments of these children are usually conducted on a joint basis with the Police Child Abuse and Investigation Team (CAIT) - Children in Need - children whose needs cannot be met through the CAF (Common Assessment Framework) and TAC (Team Around theChild) process or ones with a range of complex needs - The initial stages of new Looked After episodes for a child or young person - Families presenting as having No Recourse to Public Funds. Assessments are completed, through direct work with children andfamilies plus appropriate professionals, to identify needs/risks and develop plans to meet these as appropriate. Case responsibility is then transferred to the appropriate teams within Social CareMinimum compliance requirements: Social Work Qualification Registrationwith Social Work England DBS Check within 12 months or a DBS registered to the Update ServicePlease contact Matt on or call for an informal discussion on the role.
