Application Support Engineer - SQL / Software - £45,000 - LEARN AZURE

Applause IT are working exclusively with a well-established software house to recruit a new Application Support Engineer with strong SQL skills and some understanding (reading logs will do) of at least one development language (Java, JavaScript, Python).You'll be responsible for providing 2nd/3rd line support to end users as part of a Service Desk based out of Camberley - this is a hybrid role with a preference for 2 days per week in the office.

You'll have good communicaiton skills, and ideally you will have a background in providing Application Support expertise within an ITIL service desk environment. Prioritising tickets and the ability to speak to customers is just as important as your technicalSQL skills and ability to read code.

The successful Application Support Engineer will have:

- Experience working in a support team capacity (Service Desk Experience preferred);
- Experience working in a support team capacity (Service Desk Experience preferred);
- Basic understanding of one or more programming languages (we use Java, Javascript, Python) with the ability to read code and do critical analysis for incidents;
- Basic understanding and appreciation of Cloud with the ability to attend training and upskill on the Azure platform;
- Basic understanding of networking, scripting, working with console based commands;
- Basic understanding of database management systems, SQL as a standard language for working with databases;
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle;
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal;
