The Logistics People are recruiting a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator on behalf of Trailer Auto Group.
**Job Role**:
Health & Safety Co-Ordinator
Location : Stoke
Pay: £25,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00
As the Health and Safety Co-Ordinator for Trailer Auto Group, you are responsible for keeping our people safe at work. You will work alongside the Management Team to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and developed; investigate and report on accidentsand provide health and safety training and advice to employees.
**Main Responsibilities and Objectives**:
- Awareness of relevant health and safety policies, including development of information and supervision concerning policies and practices.
- Ensure a safe workplace without risk to health.
- Safe movement and storage of plant, machinery and equipment.
- Adequate provision of emergency procedures, including first aid, welfare facilities and support, signage, PPE and incident reporting to relevant authorities.
- Liaise with relevant external health and safety authorities, where appropriate.
- Management of on-site contractors and selected suppliers, ensuring risk management is in place and site rules are adhered to.
- Timely risk assessments and site inspections and implementation of measures to ensure safe working.
- Investigate and record accidents in the workplace.
- Identify potential hazards and determine ways of reducing risks.
- Control all COSHH items on site, ensuring all documentation is current and relevant to use.
- Influence safe working practices through effective toolbox talk programmes to all employees.
- Chair regular Health and Safety Committee meetings.
- Continuing professional development, ensuring Health and Safety knowledge is kept up to date.
**Qualificiations**:
Relevant Health and Safety qualification, recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
**Experience**:
Previous experience in a similar role.
**Business Skills**:
- You will have strong communication skills and have the ability to work towards deadlines under pressure.
- You will have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- You will have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to work well in a dynamic, growing team.
- Ability to work using own initiative with limited supervision within fixed guidelines.
- The desire to fully embrace being part of a wider team - happy to lend a hand to others where needed.
- “Tidy as you go” mentality with cleaning and maintaining the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- IT literate with good typing skills and confident using a range of programmes and systems.
- Committed to personal development and further studies.
