**What you’ll be doing**
As the Project Definition Manager, you will be responsible for leading and assuring the development of the Water Reuse Strategic Resource Option (SRO) on behalf of Thames Water.
You’ll be working with the project delivery teams responsible for the development of a large, new water reuse scheme in London, preparing for planning consent, and developing the design to be ‘construction ready’ in AMP8.
The role will provide strategic direction and set the project priorities.You will work closely with the Water Resources and Asset Engineering teams to ensure the project meets the sponsor’s requirements.
The role will be part of the TW Strategic Resource Option (SRO) programme team, which is responsible for developing several projects that will improve resilience to drought and minimise interruptions to water supplies in the Southeast whilst protecting theenvironment.
You’ll be working in a small team to set standards for project delivery that are industry-leading, including sustainability and the use of digital data and information models for project development.
**What you should bring to the role**:

- An established and credible leader with the drive and energy to deliver
- Previous experience in a role as a project sponsor or development manager of a similar project, Understanding and interpreting Sponsor Requirements
- The ability to influence many stakeholders, often with competing objectives, whilst preserving and maintaining excellent, collaborative relationships is a critical part of this role
- Experience in leadership on programmes and/or projects through a DCO or similar complex planning phase is desirable
- Significant and relevant engineering experience, ideally including Wastewater Non-Infrastructure (treatment) experience
- Knowledge of all stages of the project lifecycle
- Project management skills, ability to multi-task and work flexibly to manage conflicting priorities
- Chartership through a relevant awarding body (or working toward)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Highly developed communication and influencing skills both written and verbal
- Significantly competent with the use of complex IT systems and standard office software
- An influencer who is self-motivated and comfortable working in a matrix delivery environment
