Based in London and reporting to the Head of UK Marine Claims, you will drive excellence in the claims handling service provided to brokers, clients and internal customers across the Marine line of business.
**Responsibilities
***In this role, you will**
- Resolve Marine claims, ensuring cost effective, service-oriented solutions
- Actively evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels
- Liaise with external experts in performing coverage analysis and offering resolution strategies, including development and implementation of defence strategies on contentious claims
- Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters
- Support development of the claims strategy to ensure profitable growth and a strong market position
- Review and manage claims movement reports and proactively identify loss trends
**To be successful in the role**:
**You will have.**
- Around 3 years‘ professional experience dealing with Marine claims
- An understanding of legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (eg. mediation)
- Knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance, reinsurance
- The ability to leverage data in order to provide meaningful analytics to internal stakeholders
- You are a collaborative and positive team player, capable of driving new initiatives
- With excellent communication skills, you create and maintain solid relationships at every level within the organisation
**Ideally you will also have**
- London Market ECF/CLASS claims handling experience
