Area Asset Management Advisor

We are looking for enthusiastic and forward-thinking people to provide technical direction and enhance our friendly team.
You’ll lead on work to ensure that our flood risk assets are reliable and resilient. Monitoring the progress of all work, identifying gaps in the delivery of priorities, and taking the necessary remedial action. You will be capable of prioritising your own workload, and ensuring we comply with legal requirements and internal policy.

Oversee our asset management plans to support effective decision.
Deliver tasks for key flood risk assets on behalf of the Team Leader.
Provide technical leadership to the team and support the development of our junior team members.
Work with management to develop technical resilience in engineering/asset management and rise to the challenge of us becoming exemplary asset managers.
Identifying and utilise the most effective delivery route to deliver our projects.
Act as Senior User for projects on our £60m capital programme.
Respond to correspondence from members of public, politicians and senior management.
The team
You’ll work in an experienced and friendly team.
Our Asset Performance teams manage the whole lifecycle of our flood and coastal erosion risk management assets i.e., plan, deliver, maintain, and decommission to ensure our asset base is efficient and operates when required. We perform an essential role in ensuring that people and property are protected from flooding by taking the right investment decision at the right time, based upon robust data.
Experience/skills required
We are looking for an organised and proactive person who can manage multiple work streams and prioritise effectively. Just as important is your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn combined with the ability to solve problems and communicate effectively.
You’ll understand and have significant experience in either infrastructure engineering, asset management or flood risk management. It is desirable that you’re a member of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE or IAM) or be able to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge and work experience. We value experience in the flood risk sector.
Experience of health and safety in construction and/or asset operations and in particular the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
Other key requirements for this job include excellent communication skills; proficiency in data and information management in order to make evidence-based decisions; the ability to coach and mentor others; and the ability to deliver results through others.
