We provide support to people with a range of needs in their own homes, including those with: learning disability, autistic spectrum disorder, complex needs, mental health issues, age related needs, homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions.
Our aim is to support people to have a safe and secure home, to live as independently as possible in their own home, to live as full a life as possible and to be part of their local community. In this role, you will be an integral senior member of the support team ensuring a high quality of care and support is delivered to individuals within the Dunfermline Homlessness/Outreach Service.
Within this service specifically we provide high quality support and guidance to individuals who require direct access/temporary accommodation as well as support to others within their own homes (outreach).
The service is currently undergoing changes in order to modernise the offering of temporary accommodation to homeless individuals whilst working in conjunction with Fife Council Housing. It is an exciting time for the service, these transitional changes are already having a positive impact on service users and staff as well as improving the homeless services across Fife and reducing local homelessness.
The provisions for homelessness are moving within local communities with some new homeless accommodation being provided within local housing areas with properties being allocated to those already on the homeless register. As the Senior Support Worker you will be part of the leadership team for further changes to the service in order to aid the transition of the homeless provisions
Homelessness support is very important, it is centred around understanding the day to day challenges faced by people with homelessness issues, and can usually involve mental health aspects, learning and physical disabilities, right through to addictions or substance misuse issues. Working within this service the successful individual requires to have the passion, drive and dedication in helping others to live fulfilling lives.
The outreach support part of the service provides support to individuals in their own homes with a range of support needs, across Fife (Dunfermline, Rosyth, Lochgelly, Kirkcaldy). This support is aimed to develop and maintain independent living skills As a Senior Support Worker you will develop and implement support plans for service users to ensure supported individuals have the best possible lifes.
As a Senior Support Worker you will undertake joint working support with external parties and agencies to ensure the best possible support is provided to the service users.
