We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Outpatients department as an admin assistant / receptionist / call centre handler, to assist patients with booking in for their outpatient appointments, ensuring their new and follow up appointments are booked and the activity has been accounted for.

The Outpatient's Department is a very busy environment, where dealing with patient queries will be a regular daily occurrence as well as ensuring patients are checked in for their appointments checking their demographics are all correct.

You will be representing the Trust as first point of contact for patients/visitors displaying the values that the Trust encourages all staff to undertake of being Excellent, Compassionate and Respectful at all times.

The hours for the role are 09:00 - 15:45 Monday - Friday. This is an office based role and does not have any requirement for home / remote working.

This role is very varied and can be very demanding, you may find Patients/Visitors can be challenging at times which requires empathy, understanding and patience to ensure that the patients' needs are met.

You will also have the responsibility of checking patient demographics to ensure they are up to date and correct, booking patients in for their appointment, checking them out and providing the activity information. and making any follow up appointment as requested by the Consultant, booking transport or interpreters if necessary.

**This role will require travel between 4 sites**:

- Basildon Centre, St Martins Square, SS14 1DL
- Main Outpatients, Basildon Hospital, SS16 5NL
- Dermatology Unit, Basildon Hospital, SS16 5NL
- Orsett Hospital, Rowley Road, RM16 3EU

**The main duties of this role include**:

- Checking patients in at Outpatient receptions
- Booking new and follow up appointments for patients using EPR and ERS
- Completing outpatient outcome forms
- Answering patient appointment enquiries on the telephones
- Filing and scanning duties
- Completing adhoc reports and weekly admin checks
