**Development/Commercial Property Solicitor**
A Development/Commercial Property Solicitor is required by the five-partner niche established and respected commercial law firm based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire (Postcode AL5 4US), 30 minutes by Thameslink to St Pancras to join its forward looking, experiencedand friendly team committed to providing a quality service to its clients, many of whom are long established.
The firm has a particular expertise in social housing and are ranked in the prestigious independent publications Chambers Directory and the Legal 500.
**Role Overview**:
Senior Associate/Legal Director in the Development Team to undertake social housing and private developer client development acquisition and commercial property work including drafting, negotiating and finalising Conditional Sale/Purchase Agreements, Optionsand Joint Venture Agreements and Section Agreements including in particular Section 106 Planning Agreements and dealing with commercial funding documentation and from time to time the negotiation and finalisation of commercial leases.
A competitive salary package is on offer.
Whilst the role is full time they will also consider an Applicant wishing to work part time but the successful Applicant must then be willing to work the agreed part time hours in their offices.
The job will require of the successful Applicant:

- The ability to express his-self/herself effectively, think laterally, problem solve and to take the lead and control meetings between clients and third parties with confidence
- The ability to negotiate complex property agreements and be able to work under pressure against tight deadlines
- An aspiration to achieve excellence and provide a pro-active quality service in all areas under the supervision of a Line Manager
- Pragmatism, resourcefulness, and good interpersonal skills
- Regular contact with clients face to face, on the telephone and in virtual meetings.
- Pro-activity in the marketing of the firm’s legal services in line with the firm’s business and departmental plans and maintaining appropriate professional relationships with the firm’s connectors and referrers.
- The ability to effectively use the firm’s cloud-based IT systems and digital dictation systems and demonstrate computer literacy and keyboard skills.
- Effective management of allocated caseload and ensuring that such caseload is properly time recorded in accordance with the firm’s established procedures and billed on a timely basis and that monies due to the firm in respect of invoices rendered are promptlycollected.
- To keep up to date with developments, legal and otherwise, in the Applicant’s particular area of expertise.

**The Solicitor**:
You must be an experienced development/commercial property solicitor or FILEX to join their Development Team in their Harpenden office to assist in the servicing of their social housing/private developer and commercial property clients.
In this respect whilst knowledge of development conveyancing and processes is essential knowledge of social housing development itself, whilst an advantage, is not necessary as training will be offered.
