Our Team:
Halton Supported Housing Network is a group of 18 houses across Runcorn and Widnes, providing accommodation and support for adults with learning and physical disabilities in the community.
We are putting people first and focusing on what people with a disability can do as opposed to what they cannot; supporting people in such a diverse way is one of the main reasons why Halton Supported Housing Network has won national awards.
We believe that people with a disability should be the drivers in their lives not the passengers; therefore person centred support workers need to support and engage people to take the lead in living in their own homes. The service has multiple vacancies for committed individuals to act in the capacity of Support Worker, promoting people with disabilities to engage in all aspects of their daily living and links into meaningful opportunities within their local community.
We have several permanent roles available, ranging in hours per week so whatever your situation we feel we could have the right position for you, to enable you to enjoy a positive work/life balance.
Your Contributions:
1. Support tenants to achieve the objectives identified in their Person-Centred Plan, maximising their independence. Following tenants individual risk assessments/support plans that are in place in relation to any challenging behaviour. this will include planned and unplanned care responding to individuals alarm calls/ systems.
2. Support tenants to prepare meals, undertake household tasks, including self-care. Flexibility to work alternative hours to support this is required. Support tenants to access the community.
3. Assist and support tenants to manage their finances daily record all transactions on individual budget sheets, ensuring that tenants monies and budget sheets balance. Follow HSHN finance policy and procedures.
4. Complete all mandatory training and attend any person or job specific training relative to the post if requested by your line manager
5. Receive, check, and book in monthly medication from the pharmacy. Dispose correctly of any old medication. Report any discrepancies immediately to Duty. Administer, record and order ability to follow HBC policies.
