**Summary of Role**
The Strategic Lead is a core client engagement role driving sales across a portfolio of medium and large business within Public Sector. The role will drive sales pipeline through a solution sales approach; engaging with clients to generate opportunities acrossBabington’s portfolio of apprenticeships, adult skills courses, and commercial training products.
The role is integral to driving and delivering Babington’s ambitious growth plans. The Strategic Lead will drive sales success through proactively engaging with new business opportunities in Councils, the NHS, Education and Government whilst maintaininghigh quality service levels and account relationships with existing “A” & B” level clients. The Strategic Lead will also partner with operational colleagues to ensure repeat business and a high-quality customer experience.
The Strategic Lead will develop and maintain expertise in their key labour market sector/vertical, and contribute the development of new products, programmes and services through market insight and needs; with the aim of becoming a ‘Trusted Advisor’ fortheir clients’ talent needs.
**Brief summary of principle accountabilities**
To be a senior sales and client engagement lead, operating across a portfolio of strategic accounts within the Public Sector.
To be responsible for the achievement of core sales and revenue targets across an identified selection of strategic accounts.
To focus on driving multi-year contracts, and the establishment of Babington as a partner of choice for skills and talent needs across the sector.
Identify and capitalise upon opportunities to develop existing client relationships into key accounts through effective cross selling of the wider Babington portfolio.
Diligent CRM usage - and ensuring all sales activity (activity, leads, opportunities, won business) is clear and accountable on the system
Developing and owning key client engagement plans - which clearly defines strategy and objective for sales engagement and growth on a client by client basis - which is updated and submitted to CRD on a (minimum) of quarterly basis.
Collaboration with Client Relationship Director, other Strategic Leads and Regional Client Engagement Mangers (RCEMs) to join up sales approaches, and ensure best practice is shared across the teams.
Working in partnership with our Operational Business Partners (account partners) on our largest accounts, to support account reviews, and ensuring commercial pipeline is clarified and monitored.
Identifying areas for improvement in the sales process and take proactive actions.
Communicating and collaborating with key internal stakeholders to support improvement in performance and customer experience.
Work in partnership with operational colleagues and delivery teams to ensure full awareness of pipeline, and plan future resource needs, and high-quality onboarding and delivery experiences.
Work collaboratively with solutions and product teams to ensure offering and products are aligned to the market and stay up to date with market trends and needs.
**Qualifications**
Grade A-C GCSE in English and maths or equivalent
Industry Recognised Sales Management Qualification

- Experience of setting the vision and direction for new programmes of work
- Experience of multi-site people management and performance enhancement
- Experience of utilisation of Apprenticeships/Government funded training
- Experience of building creative and innovative ways to deliver programmes
- Experience of delivering high quality learning solutions
- Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision
- Experience of creating highly effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
