As Commissioning Support Officer, you’ll work for a team in Bromley to provide management, administrative and project support across a range of workstreams and to multiple individuals. The Primary and Community Care team is fun, friendly, focused and forward-thinking. The role requires someone able to demonstrate good time management, the ability to work under pressure, a teamwork approach, and an efficient style in order to be successful in this role. You will have a varied workload, and will be encouraged and supported to work with GP practices and on development projects. The team is based in Global House, Hayes, Bromley. The postholder will be expected to work in the office regularly, in line with the ICB’s advice to staff.
NHS South East London Integrated Care Board is the statutory body responsible for commissioning healthcare services to south east London’s 1.9 million residents of the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
Bromley has 43 GP practices covering a population of 350,000 people. Bromley has the largest older person population in London and increasing numbers of people living with multiple and complex long term conditions.
Primary care is the first port of call for many people and underpins a strong and effective local health economy. Access to good primary care reduces the cost of the health care system as a whole and improves health outcomes for patients. This association is strongest in deprived areas, suggesting that high quality primary care may play an important role in reducing health inequalities. Like the wider NHS, Bromley faces growing demand for health services in the future; ongoing transformation will therefore be vital for ensuring the sustainability of the healthcare system as a whole.
