Based modern, purpose-built manufacturing plant in the heart of Burnley, Lancashire

We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our team.

**The Role**

To manufacture from start to finish of small to large size fabrications. Bespoke low volume projects ranging from simple welded assemblies to large complexed and heavy structures for the supply to the aerospace, marine and defence industries. Safe handling of large structures with an overhead crane is often required. Understanding and the setting out the workpiece is a critical element of the job to ensure clean-up of surfaces and accurate positioning across large dimensions.

**Principal responsibilities**
- _Organised and able to maintain safe working environment, immediate working area to be kept clear of obstructions, all equipment to be cared for and stored in a tidy manner._
- _Prepping, organising, and advising of issues with material or welding supplies in readiness for your workload._
- _Compliance of welded fabrications to engineering dimensions / tolerances on drawings._
- _Maintain and improve productivity, offer solutions to aid ease of production._
- _Fully conversant with current welding symbols and processes._
- _Offer guidance and support to apprentices._
- _Accurate timekeeping on system - booking on and off jobs/tasks._
- _Working on defence and military projects requires a diligent and conscientious attitude to sharing information and data. Compliance to the UK official secrets act, where applicable, and all internal security procedures is a must._
- _Experience of MIG/Tig welding to high standard on various thicknesses of materials and construction_
- _Evidence of previous welding experience to a coded standard_

**The Person**
- _Diligent in all aspects of health and safety._
- _Educated through apprenticeship or technical course._
- _Good communicator, timekeeper and able to contribute as part of a team._
- _Attention to detail and conscientious approach to all aspects of work._
- _Self-motivated with a “can do” attitude._

**Working a 37 hour week**

06.30 - 16.15 Monday - Thursday

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £15.00-£16.50 per hour
