**Job Purpose**:

- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
- Monitor the site to prevent theft or other illegal activities
- Adhere to all company service and operating standards
- To load HGV’s with deliveries
- To unload deliveries of raw materials, trays, packaging etc.
- Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
- Maintain a high visible presence
- Goal is to detect, deter, observe and report

**Duties / Responsibilities**:

- Protect Company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- To supervise the main entrances and access points, ensuring only authorised personnel may enter the site
- To guard against theft and maintain the security of the site. This may involve the examination of hand baggage and vehicles
- To monitor fire alarm, intruder alarm, communication systems, portable radios, and CCTV to be alert to any suspicious activity
- To keep out unauthorised persons and to challenge any strangers on site
- Unload lorries as and when required
- Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
- To make accurate notes of unusual occurrences
- Call police or Fire Service in cases of emergency
- Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when offices are closed
- Patrol randomly the buildings and perimeter to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates
- Load product for despatch using hand held or electric pallet truck if trained
- Collect, store and distribute deliveries
- Undertake training as required by the Company Car Park management
- Prevent unauthorised parking and access
- Give directions for emergency vehicles
- Control the safety of pedestrians using zebra crossings within the area of the security cabin and entrance to the main car park

**Essential Skills Required**:

- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and good observations skills
- Fork Lift Truck Licence
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to work night shifts and unsociable hours
- The ability to use initiative and make quick decisions
